At a Sept. 13 meeting at the Heritage Foundation, members of the Republican Study Group met to discuss ways to connect some of their pet ideologies and programs to the cleanup and relief efforts related to Hurricane Katrina. Courtesy of Carpetbagger, one of our favorite bloggers, we have these words from U.S. Rep. Mike Pence :

"The desire to bring conservative, free-market ideas to the Gulf Coast is white hot."

Pushing this agenda in hurricane-stricken areas is white hot? I suppose that's true on both levels.
