My hero of the day:

Alabama Sen. Alvin Holmes took out a wad of money - $700 in cash, to be exact - and held it up in front of the entire House membership.

"I've got $700 here, and I will give anyone this $700 if they . . . show me in the Bible where it says that marriage is between a man and a woman," Holmes said as he led a filibuster of Rep. Yusuf Salaam's "Sanctity of Marriage Amendment," also known as the same-sex marriage ban.

After people showed him passages that were indirect on the subject, Senator Holmes decided that they didn't prove anything and upped the reward to $5,000. Apparently he still has all his money. We need more of this.
