And Who the Hell Is "We"?

On Thursday, during a staged and video-conferenced, question-and-answer session with U.S. troops in Iraq, President Bush spoke of the insurgents:
“And [their] philosophy is so opposite of ours. It is the exact opposite of what America stands for.

"We stand for religious freedom ...
Unless you're a Jew attending the Air Force Academy.
... and freedom to speak ...
As long as we all "watch what [we] say."
.. and women's rights ...
Uh, except for the right to have an abortion.
... and capacity for people to realize their dreams.
Unless a terminally ill man wants to end his own life a la "assisted suicide," or unless a woman wants to legally marry her girlfriend or, well ... you get the point.

So when Bush says, "We stand for ..." that "we" could mean just about any group of people except for him and his cabinet.
