Probably. I say that even though I felt that the senator's verbal slap in California yesterday was directed at President Bush and not at veterans. (Speaking last night on MSNBC's "Scarborough Country," Pat Buchanan said he reached the same conclusion: John Kerry's dig was at Bush.)Besides, it would be pretty odd for Kerry, a man who served overseas in military combat, to make derisive comments about people serving in the military.
If Kerry is guilty of something, it is his uncanny ability to take a simple message and complicate the hell out of it. This man is not a smooth deliverer of political punch lines.
Senator, please, please cancel the rest of your campaign schedule and go windsurfing in the Caribbean. And stay there until November 8th.
