ISO Linguists

The Bush administration touts its ability to keep the homeland safe, but is it doing everything it can to ensure that intercepted messages by suspected terrorist cells can be deciphered? Apparently not.

The Carpetbagger notes that only 5 years after 9/11 attacks, Arabic linguists are still in short supply.

This administration likes to talk about the need to monitor and intercept messages. But that ability only gets you so far if it takes you weeks or months to translate what you've intercepted.
