That "Moment of Opportunity" in the Mideast

At Slate.com, Michael Grunwald's "Zeitgeist Checklist" reminds the Bush administration that the light at the end of the tunnel could be an oncoming train. Grunwald rates the Middle East as last week's top issue and sums up developments thusly:
Fighting intensifies in Lebanon as dozens of innocents die, but President Bush senses a "moment of opportunity." Linguists note that in Chinese, the character for "opportunity" also means "quagmire." And "Hezbollah" means "Party of Mel Gibson."
