Demagogue

Reacting to the news that Cuban ruler Fidel Castro has temporarily ceded power to his brother, Raul, Jonah Goldberg urges the Bush administration to develop "a good plan" to permanently chase Castro from power. Over at The Corner, Goldberg writes:

"No, I don't want any invasions or whatnot, but maybe some walking-around money and some threats would work nicely. It's not my job to work out the details."

The subtext is clear; Goldberg expects the Bush administration to work out the details for planting the seeds of democracy in Cuba. Unfortunately, as Iraq demonstrates, "details" are not exactly the Bushies' forte.
