Who knew Al Gore could be such fun? He's the toast of Cannes and was hilarious on Saturday Night Live. He's also Topic A in political conversation. A lot of Democrats start to sound a bit giddy when the subject of a Gore presidential run in 2008 comes up.

Even with recent troubles in the GOP, many of them have been preoccupied with the weakness of their leaders and the party's uncertain future. When discussion turns to Gore, everyone gets excited.
