Darling and Duplicitous

Yesterday, the Republican caucus of the Wisconsin State Senate tried to block the appointment of Michael Rosen to the state's governing board for technical colleges. What seemed to raise the ire of the GOP senators is the fact that Rosen is president of the faculty union on his Milwaukee campus. They didn't share any revelations that in any way cast doubt on Rosen's integrity.

What makes this matter post-worthy is that one of the GOP state senators who voted to reject Rosen's appointment was Alberta Darling, who had written a letter to Rosen only seven days earlier that read:
I would like to personally extend my congratulations to you on your appointment to the Wisconsin Technical College System State Board. It is wonderful to know that someone with your talents and knowledge will be serving on this board as a representative of the public.

... I look forward to working with you in the future.
This woman is a pathetic excuse for a legislator.
