Et Tu, Colin?

Damn. I *almost* feel sorry for the Bush Administration. When it rains it doesn't just pour, it hails bowling balls.
On Monday, former Secretary of State Colin Powell told [Robert Scheer] that he and his department's top experts never believed that Iraq posed an imminent nuclear threat, but that the president followed the misleading advice of Vice President Dick Cheney and the CIA in making the claim. Now he tells us.
Powell adds credence to the emerging narrative that Bush was told by experts that Iraq wasn't an imminent nuclear threat-- but Bush didn't care. Bush made the decision to go to war, to put American soldiers in harms way and risk WWIII, based on little more than manipulated, shaky evidence, Cheney's say-so and his personal desire to do so.

Shame on Powell for going along with this nonsense, for not speaking out when he knew better, for aiding and abetting the administration's lies and crimes on the world's stage before the UN. At the very least I'm hoping that this revelation will help undermine the Bush Administration's case for war against Iran, if it comes to that. They simply can't be trusted.
