I Guess the Truth Hurts

Someone at the conservative blog USS Neverdock threw a hissy-fit over these observations, made this week about the Winter Olympic Games by HBO sports commentator Bryant Gumbel:
"Finally, tonight, the Winter Games. Count me among those who don’t care about them and won’t watch them ... Because they’re so trying ... Like, try not to be incredulous when someone attempts to link these games to those of the ancient Greeks who never heard of skating or skiing. So try not to laugh when someone says these are the world’s greatest athletes, despite a paucity of blacks that makes the Winter Games look like a GOP convention."
It's interesting that none of the conservative bloggers I read who posted on this topic -- not USS Neverdock, not NewsBusters.org, nor a few others -- ever questioned the accuracy of Gumbel's GOP reference. The best they could do was bitch thusly:
"It's just hard to imagine a Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity getting a pass on something like this. Don'tcha think?"
Actually, what is hard to imagine is O'Reilly or Hannity making a remark that was both snide and accurate.
