Demagogue

Maryland House Bill 48, a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage, was ruled "unfavorable" by the House of Delegates Judiciary committee yesterday. Which means it will not go onto the House or Senate for voting, at least not for now. In the wake of the recent ruling that it is unconstitutional for Maryland to ban same-sex couples from marrying this is a very critical and somewhat surprising vote.

Maybe Maryland won't get swept up in an overheated battle over same-sex marriage this year-- ok, no, I'm not holding my breath.
