Another Cartoon That Angered Many

In recent days, as protests continued in the Muslim world over the Danish newspaper cartoon, I began to recall a cartoon that I'd seen a few years back. I finally tracked it down. This cartoon by Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Ann Telnaes appeared in several U.S. newspapers back in 2003. The Minneapolis Tribune received angry letters from many readers, particularly from Catholics, who found the cartoon offensive.

Hopefully, this cartoon serves as a reminder that freedom of the press has the potential to create discomfort for a variety of audiences.

Long live the First Amendment.
