I was at Amsterdam's big science museum with the kids over
the holidays Christmas when posters promoting an upcoming exhibit caught my eye. The exhibit is going to be about, and aimed at, young adolescents, and it seems to be along the lines of "what's happening to my body" on so on. It will also include aspects dealing with social and personal issues.
For instance, one poster said (in English), "Let's Talk About Sex."
Fair enough. This is a liberal society, and kids on the verge of puberty should be able to talk about, and learn about, sex.
But then I read to the bottom of the poster (in Dutch): "An interactive exhibit."
