Hysterical and Predictable

Not, we're not talking about Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist's temper tantrum yesterday (although those three words would certainly be an apt description).

"Hysterical and Predictable" is the headline of Linda Chavez's latest column at Townhall.com. This headline sums up Chavez's view of the reaction by liberal senators and interest groups to the SCOTUS nomination of Samuel Alito.

But I ask: is Chavez's reaction to this nomination any less predictable?
... Alito is no radical but a judicious, thoughtful, and careful jurist with one of the most impressive resumes of any nominee in modern Supreme Court history.

He's been a ... federal prosecutor with a distinguished record of prosecuting organized crime, and an appellate judge for more than 15 years .... You couldn't find a better prepared candidate ...
Blah, blah, blah .....
