In that post, I noted that President Bush was bragging that federal budget deficit projections had been revised to lower the deficit. Then I took a shot at Bush for having the audacity to brag about a budget deficit projection that "is nearly 20% higher than the forecast his White House gave back in '01."
That figure would have been correct had the administration projected a deficit of $269 billion for the 2005 fiscal year. But, as Arnold noted, the Bushies back then were projecting a $269 billion surplus. So, as it turns out, the administration was off on this budget projection by $602 billion.
