When Conservatives Love Science

We all know about conservative attempts to dismiss science when it does not conform to their ideology on things like evolution or global warming.

So you have to be a bit suspicious when organizations like RightMarch, the Right's lame-assed answer to MoveOn, start touting the importance of science as it relates to polling
The liberal mainstream media, and their allies in radical left-wing groups like MoveOn.org, are LYING to the American people... AGAIN.

[edit]

Here's what we mean: This week, the Washington Post and ABC News released a new "poll" claiming that "by a 2 to 1 ratio, the public rejected easing Senate rules in a way that would make it harder for Democratic senators to prevent final action on Bush's nominees." The headline read, "Filibuster Rule Change Opposed"!

Well, that sure sounds convincing... until you look at WHO they polled, and WHAT they asked!

Because, as it turns out, their "polling sample" of 1,007 "randomly selected adults" consisted of 47% identifying with the Democrat Party, and only 38% identifying with the Republican Party! And the question asked? "Would you support or oppose changing Senate rules to make it easier for the Republicans to confirm Bush's judicial nominees?"

If YOU were a Democrat, how would YOU answer that question? EXACTLY -- this "poll" was RIGGED from the beginning. The questions don't even MENTION the word "filibuster" -- despite that incredibly misleading headline in the Post!

So, has there been a TRULY scientific survey done to determine Americans' feelings on the issue of breaking the Democrats' unconstitutional judicial filibusters?

YES. A national, scientific survey of 800 registered voters conducted on behalf of the Judicial Confirmation Network by Ayres, McHenry & Associates reveals that an overwhelming majority of Americans believe that qualified candidates for our nation's highest courts deserve an up-or-down vote in the in the US Senate. Eighty-two percent of voters agree that "if a nominee for any federal judgeship is well-qualified, he or she deserves an up or down vote on the floor of the Senate."
You see, the poll conducted by ABC News and the Washington Post that undermined the conservative agenda was biased and unscientific while the poll conducted by the pro-Bush, ultra-conservative, pro-nuclear option Judicial Confirmation Network was TRULY scientific ... and just so happened to overwhelmingly support the JCN's agenda. What a coincidence.

Damn that liberal media and their biased unscientific science!
