Demagogue

Progressive groups have this tendency to paint the other side as being much more organized, focused and strategic than they are.

Exhibit A: As of today (May 4, 2005) the home page of the Christian Coalition's website is anchored by a personal message from CC leader Roberta Combs, who writes:

Dear Friends,

The elections are over and pro-family conservatives won important victories all across America -- and you helped make the difference!

Whether in the form of financial support, helping distribute voter guides, encouraging others to vote, or simply praying, your support was critical to this victory ....

Thanks, Roberta, for alerting me to the fact that the elections that were held 177 days ago are officially over.
