DeLay's Biggest Lovers Throw a Party

Tonight in Washington, DC's gayest neighborhood, Dupont Circle, some of the biggest leaders of the inside-the-beltway conservative movement are getting together to proclaim their unyielding, undying love and devotion to their favorite manly man, Tom DeLay.

It's a $250-per-head dinner titled "The American Conservative Movement Salutes Tom DeLay" in honor of their big strong Hammer. The money isn't going to DeLay's legal battle, though, it's just to pay for the event itself. (That has to be some really good meat!) They say they are doing it just for the love of putting on a good show and to declare that they are standing by their man no matter what!

The sponsors:

David A. Keene, American Conservative Union
Ed Feulner, The Heritage Foundation
Grover Norquist, Americans for Tax Reform
Paul Weyrich, Free Congress Foundation
Morton Blackwell, Leadership Institute
Tony Perkins, Family Research Council
L. Brent Bozell, Media Research Center
Gary Bauer, American Values

Perhaps after the dinner some of them will wander a few blocks and hit a few of the many gay bars on 17th St. or pick up some reading material at Dupont's historic gay bookstore Lambda Rising-- it's only a hop, skip and a jump away!

I'm sure this is just the beginning of them collectively flexing their DeLay love muscles for the public. There is plenty more to come, so stay tuned!
