New Poll: Good News and Bad for Bush

A new poll just released by the Associated Press has both good and bad news for President Bush. According to the poll conducted by Ipsos-Public Affairs:

The Good News:

1. "People are slightly more optimistic about the possibility of a stable, democratic Iraq."

The Bad News:

1. The president's job performance has fallen -- the public was evenly split in January, but now 54% disapprove of Bush's performance.

2. "The number [of Americans] who think the country is headed down the wrong track increased from 51% to 58% in the past month."

3. A majority of those polled disapproved of how Bush was handling the economy.

4. Slippage in job performance is most pronounced among people 50 and older. (In other words, listening to the prez talk Social Security reform has them sweatin' like a whore in church.)
